Job Summary
Assist patients with financial clearance prior to, during, or after treatment by obtaining and updating insurance, financial, and demographic information within the Epic environment. Help patients and families understand options to cover financial obligations including co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance, while assisting with Medicaid, Third Party eligibility, and Charity Care applications. Establish payment plans and collect true self-pay and residual balances as needed, and address ad-hoc financial issues throughout the treatment period. Adhere to quality assurance guidelines and established productivity standards to support the work unit's performance expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with the Epic environment
- Ability to obtain and update insurance, financial, and demographic information
- Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility
- Ability to process Third Party eligibility applications
- Experience with Charity Care applications and processing
- Ability to establish payment plans
- Ability to collect true self-pay and self-pay residual balances
- Adherence to quality assurance guidelines
- Ability to meet established productivity standards
