Job Summary

Gather and input patient demographic and financial information while contacting physicians for authorizations and verifying payer benefits. Explain insurance benefits, collect co-pays and deductibles, and document authorization details in the registration system. Assemble patient records, obtain insurance and identification copies, and perform cashiering functions including cash handling and valuables inventory. Maintain departmental logs, meet quality assurance standards, and adhere to federal and hospital compliance policies. Shifts are 12-hour nights with rotating weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent
  • Two (2) years' experience in a financial, business office, or customer service environment
  • One (1) year PC/Windows experience
  • Proficient in Windows Microsoft Office-based products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Typing proficiency
  • Must complete Patient Financial Services Orientation program and annual educational requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be available for holidays
