Job Summary
Inpatient Financial Counseling Specialist performs benefit education, validation, and face-to-face reviews of inpatient benefits and patient liabilities (inpatient, observation, and outpatient) while ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include verifying insurance eligibility, determining liability, collecting copays/deductibles/co-insurance/balances, completing pre-registration/registration tasks, following up on missed opportunities, and assisting with charity processing and Medicaid verification. The role involves direct interaction with patients during their stay, collaboration with eligibility specialists, and supporting daily census and documentation of patient liabilities. Must have strong customer service skills and familiarity with revenue-cycle processes and related certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)
