Job Summary
Monitor pre-admits to determine patient financial history and identify indigent patients for government reimbursement. Conduct sensitive discussions regarding payment inability while extending respect and protecting hospital interests. Review medical records for charity eligibility, prepare applications for submission, and verify Medicaid status. Assist patients with financial assistance processes and evaluate agency eligibility. Monitor monthly payment arrangements, perform collections of delinquent accounts to ensure cash flow, and communicate cash flow concerns to management. Requires associate degree in business or high school diploma with six years of experience in patient financial services.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in business
- two years demonstrated successful collections' experience in a health care setting
- High School Diploma
- six years of demonstrated experience in a Patient Financial Services/Business Office/Patient Access office
- knowledge of private insurance and government program requirements
- knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practice regulations
- articulate
