Job Summary

Financial Counselor responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for patients’ financial questions prior to services, verifying benefits and eligibility to calculate good faith estimates, educating patients about financial responsibility, handling pre-service collections, identifying aid options and setting up payment plans in the practice management system, and documenting activities in the EMR while ensuring HIPAA and related regulations compliance. Must communicate clearly with patients and collaborate with the team to manage billing workflows and obtain accurate financial information. Proficiency with Office 365 tools and healthcare billing practices is required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution
  • One (1) year of experience in the same role, or related field in a healthcare setting
