Job Summary
Assess the financial situations of individuals and families experiencing difficulty, providing information on government assistance, negotiating repayment with creditors, and assisting in accessing community resources. Empower clients to manage their own financial situations and deal with creditors by encouraging independence and self-sufficiency. Offer non-judgemental guidance to people impacted by gambling harm, helping them build resilience and create practical pathways forward. Engage proactively with community services and hard-to-reach individuals to ensure inclusive access, while contributing to community education initiatives that raise awareness of financial wellbeing issues. Join the Financial Resilience and Wellbeing Service within UnitingCare Queensland's FaDS team, a free, confidential support service for those facing financial hardship, stress, and mental health challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Financial Counselling
- Eligibility for membership with Financial Counselling Queensland (FCQ)
- Current drivers' license
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Assess the financial situation of individuals and families experiencing difficulties
- Provide information regarding government assistance
- Negotiation of repayment with creditors
- Assistance in accessing community resources
- Empathy, professionalism, and a non-judgmental approach
- Experience in building collaborative networks and working alongside health, mental health, and community support providers
Desired Qualifications
- Have completed or working towards a Problem Gambling Skill Set CHCSS00111 course
