Financial Controller

Job Summary
Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and annual financial reports while maintaining and overseeing financial records for multiple endowment funds. Draft budgets and cash flows, assist the CFO in managing financial risks and ensuring compliance with tax obligations and accounting standards. Partner with stakeholders to provide financial analysis, technical accounting advice, and process improvements, while supporting team member development through guidance and review. This role sits within the Finance and Investments team managing affairs for the Diocese of Sydney's 260 parishes. Candidates must hold a CA or CPA qualification with 8+ years of experience and demonstrate a Christian commitment as an active church member.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in accounting, finance or other relevant field
- CA or CPA qualified
- 8+ years' experience in an audit, accounting, commercial or not-for-profit organisation, including hands-on fund or entity accounting
- Demonstrated experience developing team members
- Knowledge of Australian Taxation requirements for GST and ITEC endorsement
- Strong customer service, communication and analytical skills
- A demonstrated Christian commitment
- Active member of an Anglican church
- Valid working visa
