Job Summary
Lead the European Finance team by providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and guidance to Finance members while overseeing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reports to monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and financial transactions. Coordinate annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities, then provide financial analysis and insights to support senior management decision-making. Support statutory reporting, tax requirements, annual accounts, and external audits while serving as the key Finance contact for internal stakeholders, auditors, and corporate Finance. Strengthen financial processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement. Manage treasury and cash flow activities within a broad, hands-on role that combines finance, business partnering, and people leadership in a growing international CRO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (HBO) or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of progressive finance experience across financial control, accounting, reporting, or a related area
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and Dutch financial reporting and statutory requirements
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or coordinating others
- Strong stakeholder management and business-level communication skills in both English and Dutch
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong analytical skills
- A process improvement mindset and strong affinity with ERP systems, technology, automation, and advanced Excel
