Job Summary
Prepare monthly management accounts, oversee month-end and year-end closes, and manage balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and inventory accounting. Coordinate annual audits, ensure compliance with tax and statutory obligations, and prepare budgets and rolling financial projections. Monitor performance against KPIs, provide commercial analysis for pricing and investment decisions, and maintain accurate product costing models within the ERP system. Lead the finance team, support capital expenditure planning, and collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and logistics to drive process improvements. This hands-on role strengthens financial control and supports the company's growth in the medical device manufacturing sector.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA
- At least five years' post-qualification experience in a senior finance role
- Experience within manufacturing, medical devices, engineering, plastics, high-volume production or another regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance and product costing
- ERP experience covering BOMs, routings, standard costing, inventory and profitability analysis
- Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and reporting packs
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit preparation, statutory compliance, tax and VAT
- Previous experience managing or supervising finance staff
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to colleagues outside finance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within an SME, an international group reporting structure or an ISO 13485/cGMP-regulated environment would be an advantage
