Job Summary
Controller who can run the core accounting engine and operate as a strategic right hand to the CFO, driving end-to-end close, strong internal controls, and executive-ready reporting. Responsible for clean revenue recognition, balance-sheet hygiene, cash visibility, and scalable finance workflows using QuickBooks Online, Divvy, HubSpot, and Zuper; lead a 2-person accounting team and coordinate with outsourced finance resources. The role requires building scalable processes, delivering CFO-level reporting and insights, managing A/P/A/R workflow health, and ensuring audit-readiness while supporting forecasting, budgeting, and cash planning. Based in Orleans, MA with hybrid flexibility for local candidates on Cape Cod or the South Shore, with a salary range of $85,000-$120,000 and full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 7+ years in accounting/finance with progressive responsibility; public and private background preferred
- Experience in high-transaction environments (hospitality, property management, marketplace models) preferred
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience in a real operational environment
- Ability to run close and controls, and also support forecasting, cash planning, and exec reporting
- Love building systems, tightening processes, and making messy things make sense
- Process improvement, automation, or experience building finance ops from scratch
Desired Qualifications
