Job Summary
Financial Controller Associate in JPMorgan Chase's Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) team responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data across P&L and balance sheet, supporting month-end/quarter-end/year-end close, and improving controls. Responsibilities include reconciliations, substantiation, metric reporting and governance, manual bookings to the general ledger, inter-entity controls, and participation in automation initiatives (e.g., using Alteryx) to enhance efficiency. Collaboration with Financial Controllers, Product Controllers, Legal Entity Controllers, Capital Markets Middle Office, Technology, Operations, and Planning & Analysis; identifying process and infrastructure enhancements and driving change. Required skills include formal degree in Accounting/Finance, 1+ years of accounting experience, strong analytical and communication abilities, and proficiency with financial systems and spreadsheets. Preferred skills include experience with Alteryx/Databricks and familiarity with SEC reporting, US GAAP, mortgage/auto capital markets; US work authorization without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ years accounting or industry experience
- Experience with financial reporting and month end close responsibilities & understanding of financial products
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies
- Clear communicator with ability to build and maintain partnerships within the various business partners aligned to the businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groups
- A growth mindset with a passion for learning and building strong professional networks
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial data
- Proficient desktop/spreadsheet/database skills
- Alteryx, Databricks and/or other automation technologies
- Familiarity with SEC reporting, US GAAP, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Understanding of Mortgage and / or Auto Capital Markets
