Job Summary
Oversee daily accounting, reporting, and control functions for the Finance team, directly supervising financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and inventory control. Monitor all property financial activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and gaming commission regulations. Build and retain customer relations while mentoring staff to provide superior service, and guide employees through hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Assist internal and regulatory auditors in examining accounting records and consult with management on accounting issues to support decision-making. Review and adjust departmental financial statements for accuracy, participate in designing management and accounting systems, and perform special audits on complex matters. Requires an accounting degree, five years of experience, and knowledge of GAAP and gaming laws.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of general accepted accounting procedures (GAAP)
- Knowledge of federal, state and gaming laws and regulations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong strategic and analytical skills
- Ability to lead a team
- Accounting Degree required
- Accountant experience required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- five years of work-related experience, at least two years of which must have been in
