Job Summary
Own the month-end and year-end close, delivering accurate and timely financial statements while managing day-to-day accounting operations including revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations. Automate and streamline finance operations by leveraging AI tools aggressively, and lead the annual audit process to ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards. Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models in partnership with the VP of Finance, while preparing board and investor reporting that includes SaaS metrics like ARR, NRR, and CAC. Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team of one to two direct reports, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality output. Design and implement financial systems, controls, and processes that scale with the business, partnering with department leaders on spend management, headcount planning, and unit economics.
Required Qualifications
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- 3+ years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Bias toward automation
- Proven track record of building systems rather than repeating tasks
- Experience at a high-growth SaaS or startup
- Fluency in SaaS revenue recognition and metrics
- Hands-on FP&A experience
- Track record of building or upgrading financial systems, processes, and controls
- Detail-obsessed and deadline-driven
- Comfortable with the ambiguity of a scaling startup
