Job Summary

Lead the legal-entity Financial Control agenda for the APAC region, ensuring integrity and governance of statutory and regulatory reporting across 25 entities in seven jurisdictions. Oversee the delivery of high-quality statutory accounts, regulatory returns, and board materials while managing external audit planning and execution. Drive the evolution of the regional controllership model through process optimization, automation, and shared services optimization. Provide dotted-line oversight of local CFO activity in Dalian and build a high-performing leadership team focused on talent development. Own regional regulatory capital and liquidity management, including stress-testing frameworks and engagement with senior governance bodies. Maintain robust internal control frameworks with a focus on risk-based oversight and complex multi-GAAP accounting judgements. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or local equivalent)
  • significant post‐qualification experience in senior legal‐entity Financial Control or controllership roles within complex, multi‐jurisdictional environments
  • Deep technical accounting expertise, with the ability to navigate and apply judgement across multiple GAAP frameworks and regulatory requirements in a consistent and well‐governed manner
  • Strong experience operating in environments with multiple and sometimes conflicting regulatory and accounting requirements, exercising sound judgement and managing risk appropriately
  • Proven leadership capability, including setting standards, owning regional frameworks and shaping the direction of Financial Control, with the confidence and credibility to operate as a senior leader within the CFO Group
  • Proven track record of delivering controllership operating model efficiencies, including process optimisation, automation and the effective management and optimisation of shared service and offshore models
  • Strong working knowledge of tax considerations impacting legal‐entity reporting and capital management, with experience partnering effectively with Tax teams and centres of excellence
  • Highly effective communicator, with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory matters into clear, concise and impactful insights for Boards, regulators and senior management
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure, managing tight reporting timelines, regulatory scrutiny and competing priorities without compromising control or quality
  • An outcome‐focused leader with the resilience and judgement to balance rigour with pace, and a clear commitment to developing talent, uplifting capability and embedding the desired CFO culture across the region
