Job Summary
Financial Controller Senior Analyst role based in Malaysia focusing on regulatory financial reporting for JP Morgan Malaysia entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with Bank Negara Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia, and Securities Commission Malaysia requirements. Responsibilities include preparing regulatory and management financial reports, delivering variance analyses, designing automated processes to improve speed, quality, and controls, developing presentation materials for Malaysia and regional Management and Board Committees, and maintaining internal controls. Collaboration with Product Control, Tax, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Internal/External Audit to execute deliverables; lead ad hoc automation projects and drive process improvements for enhanced operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 4years of experience in audit, accounting, or regulatory reporting within banking or the broader financial services industry
- Broad understanding of banking products and familiarity with current Malaysia regulatory guidelines and policies
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, with the ability to assess impacts and ensure compliant implementation
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills; able to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Collaborative team player with a partnership mindset
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive, with a strong delivery focus and ownership mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with business process automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Alteryx)
- Malaysia Local Regulatory Reporting knowledge and experience
- Experience in project handling, and automation/digital solution implementation
- Professional qualification e.g., Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CFA)
