Financial Coach - Social Security Administration Benefits Counselor

Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one financial coaching with consumers to help them set goals, manage debt, and build assets. Provide Social Security Administration benefits counseling and planning while completing financial health assessments and developing personal financial plans. Track monthly and annual program service targets, document all customer information daily, and submit progress reports. Facilitate workshops on Mind Over Money and work incentives, maintain follow-up contacts, and refer participants to community agencies. Serve as a resource to staff, consumers, and stakeholders to build community relationships and inform them of available services.
Required Qualifications
- Current CWIC (Certified Work Incentives Counselor) certification
- Ability to obtain certification within ninety (90) days of hire
- Bachelor's degree plus minimum two years of related job experience
- Associate degree plus minimum three years of related job experience
- Minimum four years of related experience
- Experience working with adults with a wide range of disabilities
- Must pass a credit check
- Ability to pass Social Security background check
- Ability to obtain Personal Financial Coaching Certification
- Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel
- Good motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Customer service skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated understanding of financial industry
- Demonstrated understanding of Social Security work incentives
- Flexible, open to change and enjoys mobility in the workplace
