Job Summary
The Financial Fitness Coach role involves delivering professional financial counseling to members and the local community, including assessing clients’ income, assets, and debt; recommending financial solutions; guiding clients to act on a personalized financial plan; presenting money-management seminars; and collaborating with branches and Real Estate Lending for loan refinances and work-out loans. The position requires analyzing complex financial data, forecasting for clients, providing budgeting guidance, and advocating for borrowers while maintaining dignity. Strong empathy, active listening, teamwork, and a commitment to inclusion are essential, as is the ability to operate office technology and travel occasionally. The role is based in San Diego, CA, with a salary range of approximately $70,304 to $84,206 annually, and requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of financial coaching experience, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and bilingual English/Spanish communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Business, Finance or relevant experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of financial coaching or related financial and/or credit management experience
- Ability to counsel clients on personal financial matters in a professional, courteous, confidential manner
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business literature and regulations; ability to write reports and present information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Valid California driver’s license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- Ability to travel occasionally
