Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one financial coaching to help clients resolve problematic situations, develop budgets, and build credit while connecting them to income support services. Create plans of action for economic stability, document outcomes in Salesforce, and maintain long-term relationships with diverse populations. Assist the Director and Outreach Coordinator in designing recruitment strategies, conducting workshops on budgeting and credit building, and screening clients for benefits. Interview and screen job seekers, perform job readiness training, and match candidates to opportunities in construction, healthcare, and other fields within Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan. Monitor referral networks, collaborate with employers, and refer clients to the MassHire Career Center as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Three plus (3+) years of work experience
- Experience working with the public
- More than one (1) year in financial and/or employment coaching, training, or a related field
- Knowledge of credit, debt, and money management
- Knowledge of savings and non-predatory financial products and services
- Ability to work with culturally and ethnically diverse populations
- Ability to work with individuals in prison re-entry programs
- Knowledge of and familiarity with local employer needs and challenges
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a small team across all program components
- Strong interviewing skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Availability to work some evenings
- Availability to work occasional weekends
- Boston residency
