Job Summary
Contact patients or their designees to collect accurate coverage information and perform searches in the EPIC database to reduce duplicate records. Send eligibility requests to payors to verify current coverage and assess patients' financial ability to pay, referring those who need counseling to financial specialists. Create estimates, provide financial liability education, and collect copayments and deposits as necessary while maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Interact with medical staff, referring physicians, and their designees to facilitate seamless customer interactions using integrated health information systems. Alert management of problems with systems and workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 1+ years of experience in insurance, healthcare, or related field
