Job Summary
The Financial Business Analyst role partners with business stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights that drive decision-making, operational effectiveness, and business performance. It involves developing and enhancing reporting and analytics capabilities, identifying opportunities for improvement, and recommending metrics, reports, analytics, and process improvements. The role sits within IT Data Solutions and supports analytics platforms and data assets, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and governance. Responsibilities include requirements management, reporting support, insight development, solution design and implementation, process improvement and automation, data quality, analytics platform administration (e.g., Power BI, Unanet), data architecture support, standards development, documentation, after-hours readiness, and cross-functional collaboration with executive leadership and technical teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Seven (7) years or more of progressively responsible experience in FP&A, financial analysis, business analysis, business intelligence, operations analysis, reporting development, or a related discipline
- Experience with enterprise business systems, reporting platforms, and data sources used to support business operations and decision-making
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, data warehousing concepts, semantic models, or similar modern analytics platforms
- Experience supporting executive leadership and business stakeholders through reporting, analytics, and decision-support initiatives
- Experience within engineering, consulting, professional services, or other project-based organizations preferred
- Experience with Unanet or similar ERP and project management platforms preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills; ability to translate business requirements into reporting, analytics, process improvement, and automation solutions
- Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and related reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to changing business requirements
- Knowledge of industry reporting standards, analytics best practices, and data management principles
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with executive leadership, business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party resources
