Job Summary
Lead the development and implementation of payroll systems from initial design through production deployment, overseeing operational tasks for large employee populations. Ensure seamless integration between Workday payroll systems and internal or external platforms while coordinating Time & Attendance processes using Symplr Workforce Management. Evaluate business challenges by delivering solutions through application development, system integration, and process automation, contributing to all phases of the project lifecycle including design, testing, and rollout. Provide technical guidance to identify system gaps, collaborate with vendors to define integration strategies, and convert complex business needs into actionable technical deliverables. Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, support financial initiatives through detailed analysis and user training, and offer mentorship to junior team members. This hybrid role requires 1 to 2 days onsite in Manhattan, NY, with local or NJ applicants only.
Required Qualifications
- More than 4 years of full cycle implementation of Workday Payroll and or a Symplr / Workday Time & Attendance system.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong background in implementation for Workday Payroll and/or Symplr Workforce Time & Attendance or Kronos.
- Functional expert resource in the Payroll and Time & Attendance domain, with proficiency in payroll tax compliance, Wage and Hour laws overtime requirements, and related regulatory practices.
- Strong understanding of Payroll data and reporting Workday / Simplr Time & Attendance system.
- Experienced in functional design, configuration, preparing and executing test cases with remediation, and delivering end‑user training and documentation.
- Exceptional analytical abilities, meticulous documentation practices, and strong communication skills to effectively represent the function with stakeholders.
