Job Summary
Conduct daily, monthly, and quarterly variable annuity and life product reconciliations for Separate Accounts assets. Research and resolve reconciliation breaks from policy admin system and general ledger feeds. Partner with Financial systems IT, Controllers, and TPAs to resolve reconciling items. Ensure proper accounting and reporting under US GAAP and Statutory basis. Prepare quarterly and annual GAAP disclosures for Form 10Q/K and SEC filings for registered separate accounts. Compile and present audit support for internal and external auditors. This role supports Brighthouse Financial's Separate Accounts team, vital to our mission of helping people achieve financial security.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years GAAP or STAT accounting experience in the Financial or Insurance industry required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, and advanced formulas)
- Ability and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent quantitative reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills
- Resourceful in searching for responses to questions and developing solutions
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred
- Investment Accounting or reporting experience preferred
- Microsoft Access skills preferred
- Experience with financial reporting systems and reporting tools
