Financial Analyst- Pricing & FP&A

Job Summary
Conduct proposal pricing analysis, including labor rates, billability, and margin scenarios, while developing profitability models to track trends and recommend improvements. Partner with Finance Business Partners and pursuit teams to evaluate proposal economics, summarize risks, and prepare monthly financial reviews covering variance analysis and KPI trends. Support forecasting and budgeting by validating inputs, analyzing regional performance, and building repeatable tools for efficiency. Provide ad hoc analytical support to stakeholders and assist in implementing future planning tools. Based in the Kansas City office, this highly visible role on a small FP&A team requires critical thinking to challenge assumptions and build scalable analysis for better business decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, pricing, financial analysis, project finance, commercial finance, or a similar analytical role
- Strong Excel financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and large data set analysis
- Strong PowerPoint and communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex analysis clearly and concisely
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts
- Self-starter with analytical curiosity and a desire to understand the 'why' behind the numbers
- Eager to learn, ask questions, and build business acumen
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance accuracy, speed, and practical business needs
- Comfortable working through ambiguity and developing a logical path forward
- Able to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with Finance, Regional Operations, and project teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and supporting both recurring deliverables and ad hoc analysis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting pricing, proposals, project profitability, rate analysis, or project-based financial modeling preferred
- Experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, consulting, professional services, or project-based businesses preferred
- AI-assisted analysis, Power BI, Power Query, SQL, VBA, or similar data analysis experience preferred
