Financial Analyst, Oil Sands Capital Accounting

Job Summary
Prepare and analyze monthly capital accruals for assigned Oil Sands properties, ensuring completeness and reliability of cost estimates. Perform monthly cost and variance analysis against budget and forecast, providing clear explanations of capital spend deviations. Post adjusting journal entries and prepare quarterly accounting memos related to exploration and evaluation spend. Collaborate with business partners to set up and review WBS elements and AFEs, while supporting Monthly Performance Management Reporting and quarterly financial statement reviews. Liaise with tax, audit, and risk teams to address inquiries and prepare recoverable cost estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on finance, accounting, and/or upstream operations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation
- Previous experience in upstream finance
