Job Summary
Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts including bank, accruals, and fixed assets, then post month-end journal entries and perform variance analysis on income and balance sheet accounts to identify trends and recommend upgrades to management. Own month-end reporting preparation and presentation, analyze department expenses against budgets, and assist the Controller and CFO with monthly financial statements, bank reporting, and year-end audit documentation. Process improvements within the new ERP system and investigate AI solutions to increase efficiency in accounting processes. Act as a business partner to other departments, guiding them in sound financial decision-making. Work a hybrid schedule at the corporate office in Overland Park, KS.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3 plus years of relevant accounting experience
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced excel skills including vlookups, sumifs, and pivot tables
- Strong computer and ERP knowledge
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, procedure manuals, and operating instructions
- Ability to write clear, professional correspondence and reports
- Ability to effectively present performance data and information in one-on-one, small group, and customer-facing settings
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and process thinking
- Must be results-oriented
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Use good judgment in decision-making while following company policy
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to produce clear, professional customer-facing reports and presentations
- Ability to communicate performance data with confidence
