Job Summary
Teledyne FLIR is searching for an experienced Accountant & Financial Analyst who will be responsible for accounting reconciliations and financial planning, analysis, and reporting for various defense programs. This role supports the Detection business unit and collaborates with other business units to ensure accurate accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance with corporate financial policies. The role serves as a key partner to program managers and leadership, providing insights that drive strategic decision-making and optimize resource allocation. Key responsibilities include portfolio management across contracts and internal R&D, monitoring budgets, actuals and forecasts, designing financial analysis tools and reporting frameworks, preparing monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports, supporting long-range planning and operating plans, performing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, supporting month-end/year-end close, ensuring US GAAP and government contract compliance, audits support, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and business units to provide financial guidance and improve reporting accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 5 - 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance or project analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems required, SAP experience strongly preferred
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated continuous learning mindset and collaborative team orientation
- Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce
