Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling for The Department of War. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather financial data, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and support decision-making processes. Manage budgets with OSBP and DoD agencies, perform cost analysis of small business programs, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies. Prepare financial reports, statements, and documentation to support audits and resolve discrepancies while assessing financial risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Requires an active Secret security clearance and five years of experience in accounting or finance.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, business administration/management required
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst (preferably within the defense sector or government contracting sector)
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Proficient in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software tools
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
