Job Summary
Develop and maintain management reports, dashboards, and financial analysis for senior management to support pricing, estimating, tendering, and operational decisions. Analyse financial and operational data to identify profitability, cost trends, variances, and areas requiring attention across vehicles, lorries, machinery, and other asset-intensive sectors. Consolidate information from accounting systems, spreadsheets, timesheets, and vehicle records to improve data accuracy and reliability. Present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and management while investigating unusual figures and identifying opportunities to improve margins.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Previous experience in Financial Analysis, Management Accounting, Commercial Analysis, Management Information, or a similar role
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial and operational data
- Good understanding of financial reporting, costing, margins, and profitability
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Commercially minded with strong problem-solving skills
- Naturally curious and willing to question figures and investigate why something does not look right
- Comfortable working with imperfect or fragmented data and helping develop better processes
- Able to work independently and effectively in a remote environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an asset-heavy or operationally complex industry
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting systems
- Experience in construction, contracting, haulage, agriculture, engineering, plant, forestry, landscaping, or another asset-heavy industry
- Experience analysing fleet, machinery, labour, fuel, maintenance, or utilisation costs
