Job Summary
Assist in the preparation, tracking, and review of annual operating and capital budgets, while updating capital improvement program funding reports and coordinating monthly budget correspondence with Member Cities and Customers. Analyze financial data to prepare reports on revenue, expenses, and budget performance, and perform reconciliations and variance analyses for departmental and District-wide budgets. Support the development of long-range Strategic Financial Plans, contribute to cost allocation models by gathering data, and prepare budget-to-actual reports for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate financial records and participate in financial modeling efforts to evaluate operational and capital planning scenarios. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial information, and provide support for special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in finance
- Solid understanding of basic budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and data integrity
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Current, valid, and vehicle-appropriate driver's license
- Ability to lift items up to 20 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Experience in public finance
- Experience with financial systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
