Job Summary

Financial Aid Planner at Jersey College is responsible for managing, overseeing, and assisting students with navigating the financial aid process in accordance with college policies, federal and state regulations, and accrediting agencies' standards. The role advises students on FAFSA eligibility, creates payment plans, informs about funding sources, maintains contact with State Workforce Agencies, monitors payment-plan adherence, initiates actions for default, verifies eligibility for Federal aid programs (Pell Grants and Title IV), handles application intake and packaging, conducts Title IV-required interviews, and uses Title IV management information systems to track applications and draw down federal funds. The position participates in weekly admissions update meetings and supports related duties as assigned. Required skills include at least 1 year of financial aid experience, knowledge of federal/state financial aid regulations with specific knowledge of Direct Loans, Pell Grants, and Title IV, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential; an Associate Degree or higher is preferred; bilingual ability is a plus.
