Job Summary

Counsel prospective and current students and their parents regarding available financial aid sources, budgeting, and payment processes. Maintain understanding of federal needs analysis, application procedures, and regulatory policies while reviewing applications and assisting with award processing. Represent the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at university and off-campus events, including presentations and FAFSA assistance. Triage application issues, audit awards for compliance with federal and state regulations, and serve as a point of contact for third-party stakeholders. Collect, prepare, and analyze financial aid data; may hire, train, and supervise student employees. Flexibility to work additional hours during peak demand and occasional weekends is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Employment will require a criminal background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to present comprehensive financial aid information to individuals and groups is strongly desired
  • Experience using a student information system (People Soft, Banner, Ellucian, etc.)
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
  • 1+ year experience working in higher education
