Job Summary
Temporary Assistant Director of Financial Aid responsible for overseeing CAMS module setup, reporting, and loan processes (Direct Loan, Graduate PLUS) and ensuring compliance with federal Title IV regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining the CAMS financial aid module, running import/export processes, resolving COD reject reports, advising students (including international and prospective), packaging financial aid and generating award letters, handling quarterly loan renewals, performing verifications and professional judgments, reconciling Direct Loans, and representing the office in campus events (e.g., Loan Renewal Sessions, Financial Literacy Class). The role also involves staying current with federal policy changes and, in the Director’s absence, supporting decision-making and meetings. Required experience includes a bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of financial aid program management; proficiency with CAMS/COD/FAA Access/NSLDS/Edconnect and Microsoft Office/Google tools; and ability to interpret complex regulations, run reports, and manage multiple tasks. The position is a full-time temporary assignment based in Hayward, CA with on-site work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Three to four years of management in financial aid programs or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Docs/Sheets, CAMS, COD, FAA Access, NSLDS and Edconnect or other integrated software
- Working knowledge of federal Title IV financial aid regulations and requirements
- Ability to run reports, interpret and implement complicated data and formulas
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work to meet deadlines while demonstrating attention to detail
- Strong computer and database skills
- Ability to work independently and as member of a team
