Job Summary
Meet with new students to understand funding needs, guide them through FAFSA completion, and review eligibility for Federal Title IV funds, scholarships, and military assistance. Utilize financial aid software to review documents and finalize award packages, while providing gap funding options to support educational goals. Counsel students on financial literacy and wellness topics, manage caseloads to resolve funding matters, and perform regular outreach for needed documents or past due balances. Revise award packages due to course schedule changes or eligibility updates. This role supports Herzing University's mission through direct student counseling and precise administration of financial aid resources.
Required Qualifications
- Great customer service skills and experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience/knowledge of Student Information Systems (CampusNexus & Regent preferred)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position most of the time
- Must be able to occasionally move around the work location
- Constantly operates office and/or teach equipment which may include computers, copiers, fax machines, audio/visuals
- Frequently uses voice and hearing to communicate with students, staff or colleagues face-to-face or over the telephone
- Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess
- Occasionally move, carry, or lift 10 pounds
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Title IV administration/VA certifying official preferred
