Job Summary
Financial Accountant at Xplor focused on month-end close, IFRS reporting, and financial accounting improvements. Responsibilities include managing the general ledger, preparing IFRS consolidated and standalone financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, producing monthly reports (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, management reports), performing prepayments, accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation, and liaising with external auditors and tax specialists. The role emphasizes process improvement, automation, and data analysis with strong Excel and financial software skills. Requirements include 3–5 years of accounting experience, professional qualification or progress toward ACCA/AAT, excellent communication, and strong analytical capabilities. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in Accounting
- Professional accounting qualification, or working towards a qualification such as AAT or ACCA
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Process and deadline driven mindset with a keen eye for detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong negotiator who can develop ongoing working relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies
- Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial software and tools for reporting and analysis purposes
- Reporting into Finance Manager
- IFRS consolidated results and stand alone financial statements
- General ledger management
- Month end close
- Liaison with external Auditors, Bank Managers, ONS and Tax specialists
- Proactively identify new initiatives that could benefit the organisation
- Experience in a Chartered Accounting firm can be advantageous
- FinTech accounting experience
- Automation and process improvement in accounting
