Job Summary
Financial Accountant responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules, managing month-end and year-end close processes, reconciling general ledger/bank/investment accounts, analyzing variances, maintaining fixed asset records with depreciation, reconciling donor-restricted funds and endowment activity, assisting with nonprofit revenue reporting (contributions, grants, fundraising), providing ad hoc analyses and forecasts, coordinating audits with external auditors, and supporting budgeting and GAAP compliance across Valor Christian High School. The role requires strong accounting technical skills, analytical ability, excellent communication, advanced proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments in a nonprofit educational environment. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in nonprofit, independent school, or educational environments preferred
