Job Summary
Senior Associate, Finance Transformation within Grant Thornton's Business Consulting Practice. Role focuses on finance and operations process optimization, requirements definition, cost and cycle time analysis, and change management to enable clients to transform their finance and operations functions. You will collaborate with clients to design and implement sustainable models for process-related and reporting improvements, address issues, manage client relationships, and contribute to proposals and business development. Responsibilities include using prior consulting and industry experience to help clients achieve long-term goals, performing analysis and designing effective solutions, serving as the day-to-day contact with clients, coordinating with Grant Thornton teams to resolve issues, maintaining strong internal/client relationships to maximize value, supporting proposals and business development calls, and meeting or exceeding targeted billing hours (utilization). Travel up to 30% is expected. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, 2+ years of financial management/consulting experience, finance-focused financial services consulting experience, strong analytical and quantitative skills, knowledge of process analysis, reporting/BI, data analysis, reconciliation, close-the-books, COA, treasury, FP&A, financial benchmarking, banking regulatory knowledge, ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent communication/presentation skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 2+ years of work-related experience in financial management and/or consulting or experience
- Experience working in financial services in a consulting capacity, with a focus on finance
- Strong analytical skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases
- Process analysis, Reporting & Business Intelligence, Data Analysis & Reconciliation
- Working knowledge of Close-the-books, Chart-of-Accounts, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis & Financial Benchmarking
- Knowledge of banking operations and related regulatory issues
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills
- Can travel as needed. Expected travel is up to 30%
