Job Summary
Process accounts payable transactions by verifying information, obtaining management approval, and accurately coding expenses to the general ledger. Administer the Amazon Business account, assign and track Council-issued credit cards, and reconcile monthly invoices. Accurately process cash receipts, including checks and credit card payments, post general ledger journal entries, and compile funds for deposit. Maintain petty cash accounts, process non-workers' compensation accident reports, distribute IRS Form 1099 filings, and ensure compliance with PCI, IRS, and internal accounting controls. This full-time role includes a 35-hour workweek and offers a comprehensive benefit package with medical insurance, a health savings account, and a 403b/Roth match.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounting or finance
- Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles
- Knowledge of PCI regulations
- Excellent technical computer skills in Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to learn new software as required
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great attention to detail
- Strong commitment to accuracy
- Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to analyze data, reconcile numbers, and produce required statistical reports
- Ability to assist several staff on multiple, concurrent projects and tasks in an orderly and well-paced manner
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to interact with diverse populations
