Finance Operations & FP&A Lead

Job Summary
Own monthly P&L, budget vs actual, cash flow forecasting, and KPI reporting for COO/CEO. Proactively monitor P&L, reconciliations, and margin data to catch inconsistencies before they compound. Continuously map and refine finance processes, closing gaps across internal and external systems. Drive automation and AI adoption to reduce manual work and free up capacity for higher-value analysis. Partner with Commercial and Supply Chain on COGS visibility and SKU/channel-level profitability. Oversee payroll operations via automated tools or external providers. Act as a financial advisor to Commercial, Purchasing, Operations, and Warehousing. This individual contributor role offers strong process ownership and real growth potential within a lean, fully remote team of 30. The company specializes in sourcing high-demand products unavailable or prohibitively expensive in specific regions, operating with a global mindset from the ground up.
Required Qualifications
- 4–8 years of experience in FP&A, controlling, finance operations, audit, or controller role
- English C1
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining P&L, cash flow, budgets, forecasts
- Experience working with external accountants, tax advisors, or accounting providers
- Proven experience with automating the finance process
- Strong FP&A and controlling foundation: strong understanding of P&L, cash flow, Budget vs Actual, variance analysis, management reporting, and monthly close logic
- Accounting fluency: accruals, AR/AP, bank reconciliation, cut-off, COGS, gross margin, and ability to challenge accounting data
- Strong technical skills: Experience with ERP or accounting systems, advanced Excel / Google Sheets, structured reporting, and work with messy data from multiple sources
- Process ownership: ability to improve recurring finance workflows, document processes, and reduce manual dependency
- Business partnership: ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and support decisions with numbers
- Automation mindset: curiosity and willingness to use AI, automation tools, and modern workflows to improve finance processes
- Strong working style: hands-on, structured, detail-oriented, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to work directly with the COO without a management buffer
- Minimum 4-5 hours of overlap with Madrid working hours

- Spanish is a plus
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, marketplace, e-commerce, retail, trading, logistics, or inventory-based businesses
- Experience automating finance processes or working with finance automation tools
- Holded, QuickBooks, Power BI, Looker, NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems
- SQL, Python, Make, Zapier, APIs, or other automation tools
- AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, or similar
- Marketplace / e-commerce experience, including reporting tools
