Job Summary
Finance Operations Lead responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Manages financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls while leading a finance team to support strategic objectives. Key duties include developing and documenting financial processes in line with IFRS/Thales Group rules, preparing monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports, monitoring performance with actionable insights, coordinating with auditors, identifying process improvements and cost efficiencies, collaborating with shared services, providing data-driven strategic planning support, and leading or supporting financial systems upgrades and tool rollouts. Requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), dashboards (Power BI/SharePoint), and CPA/CMA consideration preferred; demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills; and ability to work in a hybrid setup in Ottawa, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Experience building reports and/or dashboards with different tools (e.g. SharePoint, Power BI)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
