Finance Officer

Job Summary
Conduct financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting by preparing annual and quarterly project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and donor-aligned financial reports. Record and process all project financial transactions in SunSystems or Horizon, manage petty cash, and conduct monthly reconciliations while ensuring adherence to donor regulations and grant conditions. Monitor budget utilization, advise on variances, and support audits by verifying expenditures and maintaining asset registers. Visit project sites to review field expenses and provide on-site guidance to strengthen financial controls. Train staff and partners on financial policies, compliance, and documentation to enhance capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in project or grant financial management (preferably in NGO sector)
- Knowledge of donor-funded project accounting (e.g., EU, USAID, GCF, or World Vision-supported grants)
- Strong understanding of financial systems (e.g., SunSystems, Horizon, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to stewardship
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Commitment to World Vision's Christian ethos and core values
Desired Qualifications
- Strong Computer skills
- Strong capacity building skills (especially with people with no formal education)
- Experience working with farmers
- Working knowledge of programs or the projects management cycle
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all staff and other key partners
- Good planning and organizational skills
