Job Summary
Process accounts payable by verifying invoices, coding expenses, and preparing payments including electronic funds transfers and credit card transactions. Reconcile vendor accounts, respond to vendor inquiries, and maintain accurate records for accounts payable, vendors, contracts, and financial data. Prepare accounts payable reports for Council meetings, manage Workers' Compensation records for contractors, and assist with funding applications and project progress reporting. Support the Chief Financial Officer with account reconciliations and provide administrative coverage for the Finance Department during absences or peak periods. This full-time, unionized Level 3 position offers a 2026 salary range of $64,918 to $77,900 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a business accounting course
- Two years of experience in the accounting field
- Experience providing accounts payable services in a computerized environment
- Working knowledge of electronic financial systems
- Working knowledge of general accounting processes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
