Job Summary
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including journal entries, general ledger ownership, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Prepare management reporting packages, statutory financial statements, and ensure compliance with India GAAP, US GAAP, and tax regulations. Drive implementation of scalable accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation to support SOX readiness and process standardization. Lead, coach, and develop the India accounting team while partnering with global finance stakeholders on consolidation, reporting, and continuous improvement. Support ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and finance process automation initiatives to improve close efficiency and operating discipline. Based in the Mumbai area with an 8–12 year leadership background, this role offers exposure to a US-owned global organization with a focus on diverse perspectives and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field
- 8–12 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of India GAAP, US GAAP, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit requirements, and corporate accounting policies
- Experience with ERP/reporting systems
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong English communication skills
- Location Mumbai, India area
- Ability to work effectively with local business teams and global finance stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- CA, Cost Accountant, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification
- Experience in a multinational, manufacturing, industrial, water, infrastructure, or technical product/service environment
- SAP, Infor LN/Baan, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, or similar tools
