Job Summary
Oversee the complete accounting function across 12 group companies, managing supplier invoices, payments, and Sage 50 postings daily. Handle ad hoc financial queries, review the nominal ledger, and execute journal adjustments for recurring transactions, intercompany recharges, and month-end accruals. Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for sales, purchase, bank, PAYE, VAT, and pension ledgers, while preparing quarterly accounts, management reports, and budget comparisons. Manage aged creditors and supplier reconciliations to ensure accurate financial information for the £22.89M group turnover.
Required Qualifications
- Experience overseeing the complete accounting function of multiple companies within a group
- Ability to produce accurate management information
- Knowledge of Sage 50
- Ability to deal with supplier invoices, payments, and ad hoc queries
- Ability to review the nominal ledger and make journal adjustments
- Ability to check and post recurring transactions
- Ability to raise and check management fee sales invoices
- Ability to manage aged creditors and supplier reconciliations
- Ability to post monthly payroll journals
- Ability to post monthly journals for depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
- Ability to prepare and check month end balance sheet reconciliations for Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Bank, PAYE, VAT, Invoice Finance, Pension, Fixed Assets, Accruals and Prepayments
- Ability to ensure inter company recharges are completed and prepare inter group reconciliations
- Ability to prepare monthly management accounts and departmental accounts to show profitability
- Ability to perform month end closedown and backup
- Ability to prepare quarterly accounts including profit & loss accounts and balance sheets
- Ability to prepare workbooks summarizing group position and comparing against budgeted and prior year figures
- Ability to assist with VAT returns
