Job Summary
Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and processes across UK and overseas entities while maintaining strong financial controls and reporting integrity. Prepare consolidated results and balance sheets at month end, improve management information quality, and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making. Identify process improvements using automation and AI to reduce manual work, oversee payroll and compliance activities, and act as the key contact for external accountants and tax advisers. Manage and coach a small finance team while supporting audit readiness and weekly cash flow forecasting.
Required Qualifications
- AAT qualified (or equivalent)
- at least five years' experience in finance
- experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior accounting role
- previous experience working within a growing, multi-entity SME environment
- experience of using automation, AI or other digital tools to improve finance processes, reporting and controls
- experience using financial management systems such as Xero
- proven track record of improving financial processes, controls and reporting
- entrepreneurial attitude
- comfortable working through grey areas in a fast-moving business
- confident team leader
- great communicator, both in person and virtually
- positivity, sound judgement and a practical problem-solving attitude
- confident owning the month-end process and producing accurate, timely management information
- Can translate financial information clearly for non-financial stakeholders and provide practical, commercially minded insight
