Job Summary
Own and continuously improve the company financial model and rolling forecasts, tracking actuals versus budget to surface variances and recommendations to leadership. Lead annual budget development and ongoing management, partner with functional leads to translate operational plans into numbers, and own headcount planning and workforce cost modeling. Prepare monthly and quarterly board reporting materials including KPI dashboards and narrative insights, while partnering on growth and pricing decisions to inform go-to-market strategy. Manage the external accounting firm relationship by reviewing the monthly close, reconciliations, and journal entries for accuracy, and oversee accounts payable, receivable, and expense programs. Own cash flow and runway management by producing weekly and monthly burn reports, and lead fundraising and diligence support by preparing exhibits and responding to investor questions.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in FP&A, financial planning, or finance operations at startups or growth-stage companies
- proven track record in financial modelling and budget ownership
- Advanced financial modelling and forecasting skills
- Demonstrated experience owning the annual budget process and ongoing budget management
- Experience building board-grade reporting and translating financial data into strategic recommendations on growth, pricing, and resource allocation
- Demonstrated cash-management experience, including ownership of burn/runway reporting and recommendations to leadership
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex modelling), Google Sheets, and modern finance tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong ownership mindset, sound judgment under ambiguity, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-moving startup environment
- A Bachelor's degree in finance / accounting or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent a plus
- You've not just survived but led through the beautiful chaos of a high-growth startup
- Experience at an early‐stage SaaS or healthcare tech company
- Direct experience leading fundraising rounds and investor diligence
- Hands-on experience owning NetSuite or a comparable ERP implementation
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting practices - enough to review and challenge your external accountant's work - and startup equity mechanics
