Job Summary
Own the finance function of a growing SaaS business by managing Xero and Chargebee platforms, processing payroll, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and board packs while tracking SaaS KPIs like ARR, MRR, and churn to support strategic decision-making and fundraising. Maintain robust financial controls, VAT compliance, and accurate audit trails through direct collaboration with the CEO and external accountants. Work autonomously in Edinburgh on a part-time basis (3 days per week) within an ambitious team focused on improving finance processes and driving revenue growth.
Required Qualifications
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
- Previous experience as a Management Accountant, Company Accountant or Finance Manager
- Strong bookkeeping and management accounting knowledge
- Experience preparing management accounts and cash flow forecasts
- Experience with VAT returns and statutory compliance
- Experience using Xero or another modern cloud accounting platform
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a finance function
- 3 days per week
- 09.30 - 17.30
- 3 days per week in our Edinburgh office
- Occasional attendance at company meetings or events as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a SaaS or technology business
- Knowledge of subscription-based revenue models
- Experience reporting SaaS metrics
- Exposure to investor reporting or fundraising
- Experience with Chargebee or similar subscription billing platforms
