Job Summary
Prepare financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and budgets while leading the annual audit process and year-end reporting. Manage cash flow forecasting and financial compliance requirements, partnering with managers to provide sharp financial analysis and planning support. Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting processes, and lead, mentor, and develop the finance and administration team. Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the wider business and step up as 2IC to the CFO when required. This leadership role within the Finance and Administration team in Gisborne offers direct reporting to the CFO with scope to shape financial strategy and influence outcomes across a diverse group of businesses.
Required Qualifications
- A recognised accounting qualification
- At least 5 years' experience in a senior accounting or finance role
- Strong commercial and compliance accounting knowledge
- Solid experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and strong systems capability
- Sharp attention to detail, accuracy, and top-notch communication skills
- A knack for building strong relationships at every level of the business
Desired Qualifications
- Forestry, farming, manufacturing, or FMCG industry experience
- Experience with Xero and related business systems
- IFRS financial reporting and group consolidation experience
