Finance Manager

Job Summary

Support project budget management, grant fiscal administration, and financial reporting across the organization. Create and maintain project-level financial trackers, dashboards, and codes within financial systems. Monitor grant deadlines, assist with budget-to-actual analysis, and coordinate billing documentation for funders. Manage accounts payable, vendor records, and cash flow projections while participating in monthly finance meetings. Develop financial tools and processes to strengthen collaboration between program staff, leadership, and the outsourced accounting team. Maintain personnel data in Martus and Sage Intacct, support audit preparation, and lead cross-functional discussions to improve operational efficiencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in nonprofit financial operations, grant management, budgeting, or related work
  • Experience working with grant-funded organizations and government funding
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and grant compliance processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and departments
  • Must be able to sit at and operate a computer and other office equipment for a significant portion of the workday
  • Must be able to move about the office to access files and supplies
  • This position may entail occasional work in the evenings or on weekends
  • This position is located in Chicago and will require adherence to our hybrid schedule
  • Occasional overnight travel within Illinois or nationally for conferences and training may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with grant-funded organizations and government funding preferred
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and BILL preferred
