Job Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for the hospital’s overall accounting and payroll administration, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting. Core duties include month-end close, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, budgeting, and supporting audits. The role also processes bi-weekly payroll, maintains payroll/timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom), ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, and generates reports for management and external agencies. Collaboration with Human Resources on compensation, benefits, and payroll policies, plus leadership responsibilities such as supervising staff and driving process improvements, are essential components. Proficiency with Paycom HRIS and advanced Excel skills are preferred, along with strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and effective communication with employees, department heads, and external auditors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or related field
- Three to five years of experience in an accounting or payroll position in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of GAAP and payroll regulations
- Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom)
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and audits
- Ability to supervise staff and collaborate with HR
