Job Summary
Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations. Monitor job costing, project budgets, profitability, and Work-in-Progress reports while preparing monthly forecasts, expense analyses, and financial reports for management. Manage accounts receivable collections, AIA billing, and annual budgets alongside cash flow projections. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements by coordinating with outside auditors and optimizing Sage 100 Contractor systems. Develop department standard operating procedures, mentor accounting staff, and partner with ownership to drive cost-improvement initiatives. Full-time Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting, finance, or construction accounting experience
- Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proven ability to manage, train, and develop employees
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive projects to completion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Sage 100 Contractor preferred
- Experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, or other skilled trades preferred
- Demonstrated record of improving financial performance and operational efficiency
- Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
